Where is my oil pressure sender?
Ok, I did a good bit of searching on this and Im stumped.
Car is a '72 2.4 T with MFI, type 911/51, engine number 6123487 Oil pressure gauge pegs as soon as the ignition turns on, probably a lose connection, short, or an open circuit right? There is no oil pressure sender to the right of the fan next to the temp sender on my engine. Is this my open circuit, or is the pressure sender somewhere else on this engine? All of the plumbing is in place, I dont see any loose wires anywhere, and I cant imagine why someone would remove the sender in the first place. Is there another place on a type 911/51 engine I can expect to find a oil pressure sender? TIA Last edited by Shuie; 03-18-2004 at 11:33 AM.. |

You won't find it there on the early engines. It is back by the breather housing and thermostat. Here is a diagram (it is part number 6):
