What's this switch for?

Any Idea what this switch is for? I was thinking about using it as the switch to my oil cooler fan. My owner's manual does not say what it is, any ideas?

it selects between left/right mirror selection for the 4 way switch on your door to adjust mirrors

surflvr911sc 03-18-2004 06:39 PM

OK Matt, I've got to ask...

How have you been adjusting your mirrors? I picture you trying to adjust the drivers mirror and not being able to, then wandering why the pass side is always screwed up. :p

Just giving you a hard time. :)

UTKarmann_Ghia 03-18-2004 06:40 PM

HOLY CRAP! Now I feel REALLY stoopid. Here I was adjusting my driver's side mirror by hand this whole time! ha ha ha, I'm a dork! Thank goodness it was already set for the passenger side mirror!

Is it possible to delete a thread? Just curious...

Kinda looks like the James Bond Passenger Seat Eject button to me. What do I know...I have an early car:rolleyes:

Not the bright red switch he talking about the rocker switch.

You need to read the owner manual.

No, but you could substitute another pic and change your text and make the others look foolish. :D  :D

surflvr911sc 03-18-2004 07:23 PM

Oh, that's bad!

UTKarmann_Ghia 03-18-2004 07:25 PM

Zeke, I likes the way you think! Sooooo embarassing...

While we're on the subject, anyone know where you can buy a switch EXACTLY like this?

carmaneddy 03-18-2004 07:30 PM

there is room on the dash gauge plastic plate for small switches.. it's already cut into the body behind the dash covering.

Matt_C 03-18-2004 07:43 PM

Looks like you need to dust down there !

Matt,

Actually, YES! Just click on the 'Edit' button of your first post at the top, and you do have the 'Delete' option!

vash 03-19-2004 12:40 AM

Victor 03-19-2004 12:58 AM

You can't delete even though it looks like you can.

Best wishes.

By the way, I use that switch all the time to adjust the PS mirror when reverse parking close to kerbs.
