HELP!! I'm in the middle of two chain tensioner upgrades. I have four carrera chain tensioners that were apparently to be used with the pre-80s older style idler arms and/or spacers. I have the newer dual bushing idler arms that don't need spacers....so my tensioners don't seat correctly against the idler arms. Early-S man (Warren) kindly explained the problem and told me that I need to "mill" 10mm off the back of the tensioner stub where it slides over the mounting stud. I was going to clamp the tensioners in my table vise and have at it with my grinder.....but I just found a small locall shop with a milling machine that will do it quick and cheap. Question is...does anyone know the EXACT amount that needs to be removed...is it 10mm? Thanks !

o/t it's the females that are now confused by past exaggerations... you should hear the ladies squawk at work when now you try to convince them that on the radar screen 6 inches is really 6 miles. Sorry can't help with your question. | ||
