My clock works perfectly -- that's four of us.
mikez, I nearly split my side laughing aloud (in the DFW Admiral's Club -- people are staring) at you petting your cowboy boots. Not that I've ever done anything similar, of course . . . I did lasik at age 47, have wonderful distance viewing, lousy clarity at dusk, and highly depend on the reading glasses at age 52. Still, much better than contacts/glasses. Cheers! C. |
dual gauge
no need to flame me as i also have a couple of real porsches...that said, i had north hollywood speedometer service put a volt meter gauge inplace of the oil level indicator and it looks just like the other gauges. i am also having a fuel-oil level gauge converted to oil temp and trans temp gauge to replace the clock and gauge will appear as a normal indicator much as the regular gas-oil level gauge. they can label and place indicator marks to match up to porsche. thanks, larry

Mikez, the gage looks super, now I got to know ,were can I get it. Thanks Randy

Can you say "blended bifocals".
I have one good eye that at 53 is starting to give out. The other eye is so off that it only gives me depth perception. So, the last thing I want to do is risk my good eye to a botched surgical procedure. |
Here is a picture of the gauge setup I put in last year.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1080147939.jpg The dual CHT gauge has a 3-position switch to see any of the three "pairs" of cylinders. That and the trans temp (middle) don't use much of the avilable range (unless I am really pushing it or develop some sort of problem). Having a volt gauge really makes me feel better about monitoring the electrical system. I one had an alternator die in the last mile of a 200-mile business trip (or at least that is when I finally realized it had died), and I would have at least shut down all the accessories earlier if I had known of the problem earlier. The top gauge is a VDO volt gauge, the rest (dual CHT, trans oil temp, and A/F ratio) are from Westach. Olivier |
Mike,
I've looked all over and can't find that CHT/Volta Meter dual gauge. Who did you buy it from? Also, what did you do to adapt it to the clock opening? John |
Westach made it for me....707-938-2121.
Wrapped tape around the body and slipped the stock rubber grommet around the tape and inserted that in the whole....kinda like wearing four rubbers to make the gal think you are reeeeaaaalllly hung.....%^B |
