Tired of rear seats: Options?

I have grown tired of the rear seats in my 87 Carrera. Up or down, I just do not see the point, it is more of a bother than anything else. Just a flat surface would be a major improvement, or something that would offer just some basic storage. Asides from custom fabrication, is there anybody that offers a pre manufactured solution / kit? Something flat that would increase the storage space for a duffle bag without adding (much) weight… Any ideas are appreciated.

Well, you could put one of these back there, or do a search in this forum for "rear seat delete" and spend the next 7 days reading all the threads/ideas/pics...

I never have much luck with searches, it came up with a bunch of random non-related posts.

Also I was looking for something with a little more of a finished look...

My 1994 964 has a shelf in the back that is level with the hump between the seats. Under the shelf is two glove boxes that lock when you lock the doors with the key.

Uh, I don't think Das Boot's photo was intended to show the finished product.

Just take the seats out and use soft luggage; anything you add is just going to use up valuable space.

yeah, there is really no sense to keep them in there. If you take them out and throw them at me. I will do you a favor and take them away as no cost to you
