I am thinking of replacing the interior carpet set and rear deck with a plush charcoal RS carpet set. Since everything else is already black, I was thinking that the plush charcoal might be a nice accent to the black seats and door panels. Opinions or pictures of a similar install welcomed!

Personally, I like the all black interior all the way (which is what I'm doing), so I'd go all black. OTOH, charcoal might be interesting, if you can get charcoal floor mats. I'm of the opinion that the mats should match the carpet. My opinion, and worth every penny you paid for it

I think in the long run you will like the black carpet with the black trim better. Break it up a bit and use some aluminum highlights to set off the black. I have seen an install before that had the black carpet with silver floormats as well. It looked sharp.

You mean the carpet should match the drapes!

I had the all black interior in my 1979SC. The black German carpets are a pain in the seat. Every spec of anything shows up. My solution was to go to the Charcoal floor mats. They looked great, a nice contrast, and made the interior a whole lot easier to keep clean.

I was originally thinking charcoal since there was so much black in the car. I understand from others , that the charcoal actually looks cleaner over time since you can't see the lint, etc.

And the collars should match the cuffs to quote James Bond.

I am now thinking black door panels, black interior quarters , plush charcoal RS rear deck, and carpet set (including replacement seat bottoms), with black leather pole positions and aluminum trim.
