Question Oil Pressure Guage

I have a 78 SC that I have recently put a used 2.7 in. The PO of the engine had no real data about it, so I am being extra cautious. Not being a good wiring person, I am leary that the electronic Oil Pressure lights and gauge may not work correctly. What I would like to do, is install mechanical oil pressure and temp gauges to alleviate any chances of damage due to incorrect readings.
Where exactly would I connect the two gauges? I had seen that the 2.7 has more than one sedning unit? Something about one for the guage in the car and the other for the light?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with a second oil temp unit, it would be easier to just buy the numbered gauge/sender combo from Pelican, last time I checked I think it was between $75 and 100.

For a second pressure unit you could remove the current pressure sender and install a "T" fitting, then screw the current sender into one side and the sender for the second unit into the other side, but even this is pretty unneccessary since you can just screw the second pressure gauge in for a few minutes to see if the pressure agrees with the stock gauge, then either fix the stock gauge or just put it back if it agrees.

The pressure sending unit should be just to the right of the fan as you face the engine, it's a cylinder about 2"long and 1" across, the temp sender is right next to that.
