Gasp - Need Air!!!!
What options do I have to increase air in/out for my 73 911E with MFI. Intake air seems like it has to work pretty hard to get into the engine. Why does it get pulled from under the car? Can you bypass the intake hot air - cold air switch altogther? Iv'e seen the ads for the carbon covers that basically do this.
Can I upgrade the air box so it actually pulls the air from the grill above and still keep the hot air cold air swtich functioning? What about putting two airfilters ontop of each bank of intakes? BTW Now I know why Porches have such low mileage. Mine is in little pieces all over the garage floor!!! |

You can discard that whole system so all that comes off airbox is that 80 degree snorkel. But you live in vancouver, and I california where cold starts are never a prob.

All you really need is the hose to the hot air thermostat. The other plastic piece with the hose is for emmissions control.

Thats the enigne alright.
Weather is same a Seatle > Lots of rain in the winter. I'll try it like you have it Kurt. What about the elec. switch on the side of the drivers side stacks? Does the MFI need this? |

Ya - its hooked up to the throttle linkage as I recall. Best leave that. I should be able to disconnect the arm that goes to the air valve, and eventually remove the valve and housing.
