Floor rebuild

I'm looking into buying a 1970 911T targa the only problem is that the bottom of the car seems to be in bad shape. The floor is perforated under the pedals, the inner rocker panels are in very bad shape, the body and mechanics seems OK. It needs an inspection to be able to go on the streets.

I would like to know is there a chance that the car would not be repairable if the chassis is in very bad shape or if I change the floor pans and rocker panels and spend a few thousand $ it can be repaired??

I think the price is low (8000$ Canadian, 6000$ us), I wouldn’t want to spend a few hundreds to bring it and have it inspected just to find out that I will never be able to put it on the street.

Thanks,

Philippe, hopping to be a Porsche owner very soon.

On most 911s just about any rust is repairable now. The targas are harder to get right because their body rigidity is not quite as good. You can practically build one, though, with all the available repair panels. It all depends upon how much you want to spend. I can tell you that to repair a floor can be very expensive, if you pay someone else to do it. You either, better really want that car or have the skills to do it yourself. Otherwise you are probably better off waiting. For the money you will spend, you could have had a nicer one for less.
