Can't Open Trunk

91 C2 Targa. The trunk (front hood) will not open. The cable is still attached to the handle. The handle pulls back fine. The hood is still down tight. It worked an hour ago, when I put the groceries in the trunk. Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance

If the handle feels the same, the cable must still be there and somehow the lock base shifted enough on the front rail to not release would be my guess.
Not sure about the later lock mechanisms but the early ones have to be balanced with a little pre-tension on the cable or the jaw will not open far enough to release.
People have discussed drilling a hole in the left fenderwell and using a long hook to release it but try jiggling the handle while gently slapping the hodd at the latch point to see if it will shift it enough.

The handle is "loose" no "catch" at all, but the cable is still attached to the hanle.

Well, I'm afraid the ice cream is melted by now, but sometimes it helps to have one person push down on the hood while another pulls the handle. Maybe even wiggle a little while pushing.

I keep a cheap suctioncup around for these instances.
