How come theres only 1 small engine bay pic? I would think that after several days of detailing & 40 (!) cans of engine degreaser he'd want to show it off :)

david914 03-28-2004 07:52 PM

Maybe he couldn't remember which engine bay he worked on... Kinda hard when you have so many "fine" Porsches in the chop shop...

Jim Garfield 03-28-2004 08:14 PM

Holy Mackerel, too much information.

or more to the point , misinformation.

porschenut 03-28-2004 08:14 PM

I like the part where he says many of the SC's go 400k - 500k miles before needing a rebuild. Uh huh.

sammyg2 03-28-2004 08:19 PM

That guy could sell flies to the Ethiopians.

I love this part

Quote:

The engine is strong, albeit a little smoky, particularly after if it sits for weeks.... This is normal and expected with these cars. Actually, when I drove it the most, the smoke nearly disappeared completely. With regular use, you shouldn't notice it either. I'd think that it is good for many tens of thousands of miles of use until work is required.

evolution...it's for guys like this that the system works...;)

ROW model?? Why does it have the twin groove smog pump pulley on the alteranator??

40 cans of degreaser? Wow, I would hate to see it before the 'detail'..

Also, $1400 in tires? What are they the special 'matched set' that Cole Trickle had on his car in Days of Thunder?

Zeke 03-28-2004 08:57 PM

I tried to read it. I never saw the part where it changed from a Targe to a cab. Or did it? Or are there two cars? There's enough info for three. I got totally lost.

Can you imagine the actual dealings and paperwork with a guy like that? I think you'd have to get a motel down the street for a week just to sort all this out.

Gotta love these 'project car' ads. They always need a tiny amount of work to finish, yet somehow the seller never got around to it. And removing the interior is a rather extreme but very effective way of making sure a potential buyer doesn't get the chance to drive the car.

Guys, you are too harsh!

He USED the 40 cans of engine degreaser to clean out the induction system after 3 of the 14 QUARTS of oil the car takes puked themselves out of the oil tank!

Silveresrty911S 03-29-2004 05:46 AM

If he spent more time working on the car than his e-bay add it would have been done by now! Geeeezzzzz.......

RickM 03-29-2004 05:47 AM

Are all the scratches, bubbles and chips in the paint included?

SRISER 03-29-2004 06:38 AM

I am most relieved by the fact that this SC is a real German version...not one of those 911's made in South Carolina. This guy has some serious BS talent.

Embs 03-29-2004 06:44 AM

Fetch the Poorsh Jethro, we's a goin to town!

david914 03-29-2004 09:12 AM

trader220 03-29-2004 09:46 AM

imagine that someone with zero feedback won the auction, anyone smell a schill?

qikcpa 03-29-2004 09:47 AM

I wonder if he would throw in the "ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU NUDE WOMAN FIRE GRENADE HOLDER" at only $249 it would be a bargain by itself. (see sellers other items)
