Anyone know what this EFI part does?

Anyone know what exactly this line is for?

This runs from the intake section between the air flow meter and the throttle body to a line behind the left intake manifold. The parts diagram from Pelican:

While doing spring maintenance I went in to remove some sound padding that had disintegrated. When I removed the heat blower motor, I found this:

A nice big crack in the rubber part of the line. This line seems to be a breather or vacuum line of some sort, so I think grinding off the crimped section and clamping a new rubber hose on will be fine. Just want to make sure, though.

I will say that this worries me quite a bit about the condition of my 19 year old rubber fuel lines. I checked them and did see any breaks (or smell gas), but I'm still concerned.

Yes, just replace that part with some rubber hose. See Hunting down Motronic vacume leaks: What does the thermo-switch do? for examples of just this thing.

I believe that particular piece is to support the brake vacuum assist system.

Thanks guys. I'm going to grind off the old fitting, get some vacuum line and clamp it back together.
