Help identifying brackets '84 911 Cabriolet
I can not find any of the pictures I took when tearing down the engine for a rebuild in January. I am a new Porsche owner (bought in late December) so I don't have all the pieces memorized. I took pictures when I was tearing it apart, but I have not seen them in a month (I blame the cats since the wife said it wasn’t her and I know it was not ME).
I am at the stage of attaching the transaxle, but did not want to go any further until I had these identified. Both of these brackets are about 8" long (I forgot to measure them exactly). The one on the left has a hex bolt that screws into the welded nut (I left the bolt at the shop so there is no picture of it). The bolt is about 5". This car has AC and the bracket on the right has the same bolt spacing. If the bracket attaches to the AC I have no idea how. Thanks, Thunder http://www.boxerproperty.com/brackets.jpg |
the big one is the left side brace for the a/c bracket. attaches to the upper chain housing stud with a special stepped nut.
the left one looks like the support for the main fuel line, and some other crap. the fuel line tees under the intake manifold and runs forward toward the bellhousing, then it goes left to the regulator. it supports the line where it goes left. |
Thanks John!
It all makes sense now! |
damn, all from memory!
