1000 words on a 1989 930 Turbo

Well, it's actually 3000 words:

Great pictures Paul. She is a beaut.

Looks like you got the hookup on the WUR for a decent price to get her running right. Next time, don't let the thing sit for so long.. they get upset.

Nice Viper.

Paul - where'd you get that intercooler? Bodymotion is in NJ. They've done a lot of work on my 930. Mine's white too & has the boxed rockers, but no quarter vents.

Yes, what is faster the 930 or the viper? That would be a tough call, but I would go for the 930 if offered both!

Sweet turbo!! Wheels look nice too! (Kinesis?).
Re: Rear fender vents. Was this an option on 930? I know it came this way on the slant nose 930S, but what's the story behind this ?

thanks

very nice with the Texas exhaust say it ain't so....I'm jealous as it is a pain in ca dealing with the dual exhaust.....lol.....the one that collects dusts only comes out of the closet every 2 years...and the one that let's that baby get some fresh air!

Here's some info on the 930:
It used to be registered in NY, and the work done by BodyMotion was performed before I bought the car.

I bought the car 4 years ago. It had been sitting for months after a small electric fire caused by the PO dumb a$$ putting a 30 amp fuse for the 5 amp used for the instrument lighting. It was a B!TCH rewiring all the internal electrics.

When I got the car running it also turned out to have a failed rubber centered clutch. Lots of clanking as I drove it.

It was my daily drive for the first year. I put about 10K miles on it. Then for various reasons it turned into a garage queen. I'll make sure I drive it once a month from now on.

I believe the brake vents and boxed rockers were done by BodyMotion. Yeah, I'll take what I can get. The G50/50 5 speed is awesome. I added the Kinesis K28's, which I think really sets the car off.

Comparing to the Viper: The cars handle completely different. In terms of performance by the numbers, the Viper beats the 930 in everything but braking. The Viper's brakes are infamous for being inadequate for a tracked car.

If I had to drive one as my only car, I'd pick the 930- It's (get this) just so much more practical-- I mean it even has four seats!

I like the sound of the exhaust. If you look really close you will see the Texas Safty inspect expried back in 2001. OOPPSS! I'm not looknig forward to smogging it. The Dallas area now uses a rolling dyno test.

Wow. One of my dream cars - a white 5-speed 930. Lucky guy!

Nice car!

Mike FWIW, The brake vents and boxed rockers were factory options for the 930. Porsche also sold the pieces through dealers. Aftermarket copies were/are available as well.

The factory boxed rockers had the jack ports in them. I haven't seen aftermarket ones with the ports. Mine don't have em, but Paul's car does.

Very nice. But then again, I'm biased to the 89 Turbos.
