Cam sprocket nut or bolt?
I read in Wayne's book that 911 engines had sprocket nuts until '80 l/2, bolts from then on. We discovered during broken head stud replacement that my '81 cams have the nuts. Case is a 930/16. Could my cams have been replaced w/ earlier ones by a previous owner? (Hmmmm... or maybe the entire engine?) My wrenches are amazed at the power my (supposedly) stock engine has. Did the 964 cams use nuts?

Wayne's book also say that date is not reliable as shown in his own engine rebuild sample.

The last '81 motor I did had big cam nuts.
