Any of you 930 drivers running the 964-style cam oil restrictors?
I ran the "updated" cam supply line restrictors for just a few days on my 930 engine, then switched back to stock because I was concerned about increased head temperatures due to lower flow in that area.
It's been a few more months now, and I'm just wondering if there are any more data points available about these restrictors with respect to 930 engines. Good/Bad? Has the factory said anything? Anyone had a look inside their heads? Colin

Cow,
Were you monitoring the head temps? If so, what kind of temp. increase were you seeing? Tinker |

Tinker, no, I'm not set up for that. I guess my original post gave that impression - sorry.
I just followed the discussion here, and it sounded reasonable that the 930 heads might have different oiling needs from the NA heads.

The oil line restrictors actually came first on the 3.3 of the 964 turbo, not NA. Or at least that's what wayne says in his book. I don't see it increasing head temps all that much if they first used them in turbos.

Concidering that my 930 had no oil pressure issues I prefer to keep the full volume of oil flowing through my heads.
