Sway bar support

One of the supports for the rear sway bar is not holding as well as it should. One of the holes is stripped. A nut will go in but not hold as tightly as I would like. Anyways, how long should it take a professional welder to replace the support. The bracket is very clean it's just that one of the holes is messed up.

Thanks,

David

I just talked with my friendly local neighborhood bodyshop guy (who works on custom rods all the time). He said the job takes a few hours to cut off the old bracket and weld a new one on. Our kind host sold me the bracket: p/n C-501-983-00 $70. It would have cost at least $10-20 elsewhere (and its the Porsche upgraded design).

If you just have a stripped thread why don't you drill and tap for the next larger size? If the bracket is solid I wouldn't mess with welding another on.
