Trip to Al Reed - Update as of 4-2-04

Went to Al Reeds wheel polishing to drop of my fuchs for a full make over. Al is a realy nice guy, had about 13 sets of fuchs in differn't stages, if he has your wheels and they were due to be done anytime soon, they were awesome looking.

Attached is a picture of my car with his rollers. Know I have to wait a week to get them back.

Michael

I had my wheels done the same way, stock polished w/ black centers. Is Diane hand painting your center caps also? She did mine and they came out looking great.

Going for the duck look. Nice!

Hey Michael,
You must have seen my wheels when you were in Al's shop (6 & 8 Fuchs). I just spoke to him about an hour ago and my wheels are supposed to be shipped out on Monday. There being done exactly as in the picture you posted. I'm gettin' antsy.
Steve

Very cool Michael - Mine are there too! 7 & 8 X 16s, polishing the rims with satin black on the centers and caps. Also had Tire Rack drop ship to him so he's mounting the tires too. Supposed to go out Tuesday, hope to have them on next weekend! Thanks for the post!

Yokohama AVS ES100s. They arrived Wednesday so you might have seen them there.

After annoying everyone with too many questions, I went with 205/50 fronts and 245/45 rears. I've still got some near-new 205/55s I can swap to the fronts if my ride height is too low. The car is already at Euro ride height.

I think I'll send my current 7s from the rear to him for a matching finish, then get some 225/45s on them for track use.

I'll post pics as soon as I get them installed (and after I get time to wash the car!).

Thanks again, Michael - timely post!

did you talk to him about getting polished lug nuts? I paid $1 each to get them polished, now I don't have to worry about the black nuts getting scratched and I like the look also.
BTW, Al's shop is less than 2 miles away.

Those "rollers" are nicer than my wheels...

Cheers, James
