Hey Guys,
finished installing the carrera calipers and proportioning valve in the 912-6 tonight, used my vacuum bleeder to fill the system. Master cylinder has been dry a while. I got clean fluid through the whole system, but the pedal just goes to the floor. I do hear a little gurgling from the floor, but don't see any leaks. Is the MC dead? What model MC should I replace it with? I'm thinking I can use the stock one? Think thats what I read on here somewhere, carrera calipers f & r, proportioning vavle and 19mm mc. Any help here, I was hoping to have the car on the road by monday, but looks like that is shot if I have to order a MC. TIA

Hey John,
I had the same problem - I bled 4 times and it didn't help. I borrowed a pressure bleeder, completed a bleed in about 10 minutes, problem solved. (I'm a big believer now).

Soooo, you think its just air stuck in the MC?
Guess I can whip up a pressure bleeder quick if I can find a spare cap that fits, and plug the holes. I'll still call around tomorrow, see if I can get a mc by sat.

Note to list, 66 vw bus master cylinder cap is same size as 76 911. Don't you just love late night part raiding.
