Could be. It's always bugged me that the engineers couldn't at least have gone to the old parts bin and put the forward-mounted tank on the Carrera RS models the following year.

I have always been a skeptic as to the value of moving the oil tank -- but... I saw a factory ad while perusing some 1972 Pano's: The factory said the oil tank reloaction moved the center of gravity forward 6 inches!

That's a lot - and I have no reason to disbelieve PAG (even their ad writers). So does seem to be a valuable item. Unfortunately, I have a '73 -- but maybe some day I can modifiy the car to move the oil tank forward...

Interesting info on the 911S plate - it was on my nice '75 Gulf Blue car when I bought it from a guy her in town named "Lee G." He must have gotten it when it went up for grabs or paid the PO of the plate for it. I just sold that car to a guy in Denver and transferred the plate to my '73 (which is not an S, but an outlaw... guess Waylon would be proud, tho not sure what Ferry would say...). I like my salmon background and the extra $$ goes to a good cause. I also like the Doug. Fir plates if the characters are symmetrical around the tree.

BTW, California 911S plates were ona silver '73 that a guy in Wash. state bought. Not sure what happened to them after he retitled it.
