Depends what you after. Civilized performance or a raw driving experience. I prefer the latter.
glee? It's obvious that Lee is a lost cause...sucked in by the siren call of "newer is better". He's young, so I forgive him. But you show some hope for those of us on the "dark side". I drove a friend's then new '87 Carrera. I thought it was my father's 1956 Buick Roadmaster! It handled like a modern car. Comfortable, nothing extreme, and boring as all get out! glee? Get thyself into a "longnose" driver's seat. Only then will you know truth in driving experiences.

Yup, the 993 tt has the second best ass in the automotive kingdom. Right behind the 930

I'm looking at the latest dyno sheet on my 930 right now. At 3000, I've got 225 ft lbs. 1000 rpm later, I've got exactly 500. To the wheels. White knuckles, baby. Warp drive. Slingshot city. Etc., etc. And a b*tch to drive on the track. But fun as hell.

As far as longnose's being hard to drive, its a myth IMO. Maybe the short wheelbase ones are more twitchy, but my 930 takes a ton more skill to get around the track quickly. With the '72, I can plant the throttle to the floor before the apex. Yea, it does carry a nice slip angle through the turn, but that's so easy to control.

The typical upgrades to the 930 (k27) make boost come on much quicker, and in a more sudden fashion. So modulating throttle at the track is the name of the game.

Well, I guess you can see what my opinion is.

yeah, I never fell for the 993 either. C2 turbos look very nice, though.

They retain 2 wheel drive, and semi-trailing arms in the rear, so you can still throttle-steer them.
Tyson, 964s have that funny axial bushing rear toe control; do 965s have this? If so, does it make a difference vs a 930?

The 993 TT is an awesome car, but I hate 4WD and toe-correcting rear suspension. I hate cars that are trying to undo "mistakes" they think I made. Why should I drive a car that can drive itself?
So So True.
