It's awesome! I have one on my 84 Cab. Too bad the car is in NorCal now else I'd invite you to hear it.

Is it a new one, i.e. with the secondary insert in the exhaust tip?
If it's for a stock Carrera exhaust setup get a test pipe too or you really won't get much of a performance improvement.

I don't know about those to well, but I have what I call a 1st generation Borla on my 3.2. It is all s.s. and does not have the tip insert I mention above, the actual muffler can itself is very small...about the size of a shoebox and is quite loud above 4k, but I like it and I always get compliments about it. Of course I have SSI's and it is for the early exhaust set up.

cheers

RSupdate - It's an early version I think. It's a model that Borla no longer makes, the tip is oval with a slant. The muffler can seemed short (small) so it may be the same as the one you have. However I do not have SSI's

Do you think it would be a decent choice? When I comute, I stay under 4K I go over 4K only when I get brave and I see open road. So maybe this one would be a good one for me.
How is it at idle or under 4k? Is it a deep sound or just LOUD?

Steve's (v9ff) car sounds awsome! I'm sure David (DavidI) will agree.

It is a deep sound, that is bearable under 4k...but above that it is real loud, in fact I've got a couple of tickets over the years. From what I understand Borla has not made this model since the early '90's. The exhaust tip is round.

BRG - Go to Pristine Porsche in downtown HB on a Mon-Wed or Fri, and ask the girl behind the counter to see the Borla off her red 911...that's the exhaust I am talking about (It's also my wife and my car... )

good luck!

Steve's (v9ff) car sounds awesome! It has a deep throaty sound without being annoying. I highly recommend Borla for the sound.

That's about right....although it is on the high side. I doubt you will ever see one for less than $700..... They are NLA (NO LONGER AVAILABLE) and the sound is something to behold.... A very well respected 911 owner I know who is a service mgr for a p-car dealer has told me on more than one occasion..."that thing makes it sound like you've got alot bigger engine back there than a 3.2..."

I've never seen another out on the road either...so in a word they are somewhat rare.

Give it a 2nd thought....I doubt you'll regret it

I had a Borla single in/out on my 3.2 with a bypass. I thought it was an excellent muffler. Light, well made, and the sound was just right. In fact, I switched to SSI' and then got a Dansk and was kind of dissapointed with the sound. Sounded like a stock system. I found a local guy in my club that had a 4 out Borla for an SSI and jumped on it for $600. The muffler is brand new and never used, he sold his car before using it. These haven't been made for years and are NLA. Can't wait to hear it when my engine is back.
