Triad Muffler not as loud as i want.

I Put a Triad Muffler on my car back in Jan. And you can really feel the power but the problem I have with it is it’s not loud enough. Does any one have ANY ideas how to make it louder?

Is it a single-tailpipe design? You could have a muffler shop plumb in a second outlet.

Swap to Dual Megaphones like on the R?

A dual-out Flowmaster will get the full attention of local car alarms. Cheap, too.

cvfncrew 04-03-2004 04:43 PM

Hey Jack
Where did you have yours made (muffler). I would like to find one already done .

cvfncrew 04-03-2004 04:48 PM

Hey Paul-
How is Durango? I used to live in Silverton. Great Porsche roads up there. Maga phones would be to loud.

TeenerPaul 04-03-2004 05:04 PM

Right now, cold and wet. It rained all day yesterday and snowed all day today. Good wet snow to help keep the fire hazard down. There are some great roads here, wish I had mere time to enjoy them. Good luck with the exhaust.

I have a dual out Triad plumbed up to 993 heat exchangers. The Triad is almost quiet at idle but the 3.6 Vram howls like an Indy car between 4 and 7K rpm's. I have heard many different mufflers on many different Porsche engines and the Triad is my favorite hands down. I think the Triad makes a Porsche sound like a Porsche. If you want to make some noise, get yourself some Flowmaster Delta series mufflers, they will make your ears buzz!!

Anyone have a good link to details on triad setups? Or link to a good place to buy a triad system online? I'm interested.

thanks

Matt

just straight pipe it and get it over with ;)

i know theres a big diff between 911s and 912s, but the bursch is always the best non stock exhaust for the 912... is their stuff any good for the 911? i dont ever hear 911 guys talk about em, so i was just currious.

Unbolt it and give it to me, then just run without a muffler. :D

Is it single out or dual out? I've been curious as to the sound from the triads. Don't they offer different decibel levels for quiet tracks vs. loud tracks? What specs did you get?

Dan :)

If you want a Flowmaster already made up, get a Fabspeed.

Hit the website. I have a 2 in/2 out on my 77S. excellent workmanship, excellent sounds, etc. Dave, at triad, is a great guy to deal with and is an artist with the mufflage.

what is the benefit of loud?

MIK911 04-03-2004 09:50 PM

Love the 'loudness' of my one in one out Flowmaster. Definitely louder than stock, but not annoying, and conversations in cabin not affected. Pretty quiet, actually at highway speeds (ie low rpm). No need to get one already made, as ANY muffler shop can weld one up. I got mine done in Lomita, parts and labor for $200.
Sound is Porsche-like, tho' raspier (in a good way) progressing to a high pitched wail (in an excellent way) at redline.

Many Flowmaster threads (do search), including a sound recording by MASRAUM, which convinced me to go this route.

btw, if you're going to the PCA Porsche NA Parts Distribution gathering next Sat in Ontario,CA next wk, you can listen to my exhaust.

Inside each of us is a 13-year-old boy. When our car is so loud it annoys others, just a little, this inner 13-year-old is made happy. Why? I don't know.

Thanks To all, i will go to my local muffler shop and see what they can do.
