anyone else have a mini-me?
This is my last ride. A wonderful Targa that I sold when I bought the '89 cabriolet.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081042624.jpg This is the 1/24 model I made to match, and a tweeked Hot Wheels version. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081044071.jpg This is my new (for the last 16 months) sled. No plastic models or even die casts available of the best Porsche body style ever (and best mechanical configuration). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081044286.jpg Loved the Targa, love the cab. Life is sweet. |
89, that is a great looking car. Now I know how my 964 conversion will look with Cup Style wheels.

Today I'm going to replace the chrome cups with the painted mille miglia cup 1 wheels (picked 'em up cheap on ebay). Will send photos (after I get center caps) if you're interested. Mike |
I wish I could find a diecast model of a '74 911 Targa. I'd like it to be red with a stainless targa bar, but at this point, I can't be picky!

There is an unreal number of Porsche toys... my friend is a toy dealer, and he's got something different every time I go over there. There were LOTS of different Carrera RS, Turbo, 935, Carrera, cab, targa... you name it made. Not much of it got made by Hot Wheels and such, who stuck to its '73 casting forever. The current white with red stripes car from them is a Burago buyout, and the casting is just as old. There are hundreds of European and Japanese toys, though... Sometimes it just takes some searching.

Wayne, if you've got a diecast or model of an '84-'89 Carrera cab, I'll place an order. I've searched your boutique regularly and there's a ton of cool stuff, but I don't find a cab with accordion bumpers. Thanks.
Incidentally, the collectibles forum is lightly traveled to say the least. Where can I post photos of my collection of miniature Porsches (rear engine only): including transformers (anyone else have the Porsche Ninja Turtles Transformer?), locks, key chains, Avon bottle, pencil sharpener, eraser, MacDonald's give-away, Mickey Mouse in a cab, a 959 that changes color when heated, candy containers, as well as plastic and diecast models? This is important stuff, but not technically technical. Mike |
Too Weird? I looked at your pic of the black cab and thought it was mine for a couple of seconds. Nice car!

Pelican's got a good selection. If they don't have what you need, take a look here - 15 pages of Porsche models:

This little guy helped me idle away the 12 weeks while BB2 was being built.

I don't have my "mini me" constructed yet, but I have one of those Tamiya 1/12th scale Jaegermeister 934 models (somewhat rare now) to put together to match my IROC-wannabe Continental Orange '76....
