Info on Rennsport Reunion?
Anyone go to the first one or just know what goes on at this thing? I know that it is supposed to be amazing w/ all of the famous racing Porsches and some of the drivers in attendance, but activity-wise what happens? Vintage racing or just parade laps and photo opps?
TIA for any and all info, trying to decide if this is really a "can't miss it" event for me. ![]()

Pretty much all of the above, Denis. Lots of vintage racing. A few parade laps. Closeup access to all the cars and all the drivers. This one is shaping up to be even better, in that there seems to be many Pelican, R-Gruppe, Early S people going and it will make it that much more fun to hang out. I'd recommend it for sure. -- Curt

I had planned for months to attend the first one. Unfortunately my wife scheduled a family trip to visit her sister in Colorado and we left the day that it started.
I've regretted missing it ever since.... I won't miss this one! There will be cars there that you may never get a chance to see again, and, I will buy you a beer. ![]()

The first RR was formatted as a vintage race with parade sessions in between. Since racing is not allowed on Sundays at Lime Rock, there was a concours and photo ops that day on the track. All of the racing cars were in the paddock area, segmented into corrals. Porsche had the biggest tent with the facotry cars. The public parking was organized for Porsches. There was a big vendor area. Activity-wise it consisted of walking around the paddock looking at the cars, watching the practice and racing, and checking out the vendors.
I think the RR2 will be similar, but alot bigger and racing on Sunday too. |

Re: RRII Information
There is a schedule on Brian Redman's web page www.gorace.com. In a nut shell the on tracj schedule looks like this. On Friday there are two practice sessions for each race group. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. There are also 4 touring groups as well. I'm not sure what the touring groups are. On Saturday we have practice in the morning, and the afternoon is for the concours and parade/exhibitions. On Sunday each group has a qualifing session in the morning and the races in the afternoon.
Looking forwad to meeting as many people as possible that weekend.

Looks like the factory will be sending the very first Porsche - 356 Nr. 1. Also, the Fletcher Aviation 550 Spyder, the 73 Targa Florio winning RSR, and others. PCA will have a display of one each of every year 911 - 1963 thru 2004.

Ther's a large group from Peachstate PCA driving down - unfortunately I won't be one of them. Gotta save the funds for race tires this year!

I'll be there - we should all get together at the hotel one night (it's across the street from the track)...

Is anybody from the west driving down there. At first, I thought of flying, but changed my mind. It would be like flying to Sturgis. So most likely, I will drive. So if anybody from California or Arizona is driving, let me know.
