Momo Wheel Impressions, How is it?

I really love my car stock, however I keep feeling myself drawn to those gorgeous Momo steering wheels, plus I think the steering would be more responsive. What do you honestly think for those of you that have done this. A couple of questions:
  • How hard was the install?
  • Was there any "slop" in the wheel after the install?
  • Was the steering more responsive?
  • Did the wheel vibrate more or less with the new wheel?
  • What size would you recommend a 12.8" or the 13.8"?

Thanks! I love the Momo Comptetion!

I have a Momo competition and love it. I wasn't comfortable with the stock setup: the wheel was too close to the dash, and the diameter too big (my thighs/knees hit the wheel). Going to the Momo allowed me to add spacers to get the wheel up and out, and also be a smaller diameter (while being a fatter hand surface).

As for slop, I have some in the steering column but that isn't due to the wheel.

I love to sit in my drivers seat holding the wheel I have to put in car and make vrooming sounds, but until Pelican gets the damn hub adapters back in stock, thats about all I can do.

I have a Momo Course in both the 911 and the NARP 944.
-Easy install
-No slop
-More responsive
-No vibration
-I have the 350mm-13.8 in both cars.

I do some autocross instructing. Every time I drive a 944 with a stock wheel, I wonder how somebody can drive with such a big wheel.

I would also like to know if there were any problems with the Cruise or Horn when installing the MOMO wheels. I am very tempted to buy the MOMO Competition, but rumors of these problems have held me back.

I have the MOMO racing line. Once I got the center nut off, it was very easy to install. No issues with the turn signals.

I like the feel better thatn the stock (thicker) and got the wheel off of my knees.

I have a Momo Club 4 and love it. Great feel, looks as close to stock as any Momo wheel could, easy to install. I have to turn my speedo to see up to 100mph, but that's about the only drawback.

Great wheels!!

I had a MOMO Top Power in my car and really liked it. They are similar to the course. It was smaller in diameter so my legs fit better. The slight minus of the bigger wheel is the gauges get a bit covered. But with some creative rotating it's fine.

Currently, I run a MOMO competition two spoke race wheel. It's a rare wheel which MOMO and Martini did. It's basically round. The two things I really like are the uniqueness of the wheel and the depth of the wheel allows a better driving position for me.

The install of any MOMO wheel is very easy. Just make sure you get the spacer ring for the horn button in your adaptor kit. The button won't fit without it. Also, if you do a Course type of wheel, it's required you get the Porsche crest horn button to go with it!!!

momo

I've had my Momo Runner for well over a year, and I love it. The wheel feels good in the hands, and the leather has held up very well.

check your nuts!

I had slop developing, and was bumming, as I did the bushing fix awhile back. I figured I'd need replacement of the bearings which isn't cheap. Checked the 27mm nut and lo and behold the thing had backed off. I torqued it back down and life is back to normal.

I have a Momo Racing Line 350mm.

No slop.
No vibration.
More responsive, but slightly heavier during parking manouvres.
Installation fairly easy, but it's hard to "line the wheel up" to point straight with the front wheels.

It's a great upgrade.

The only instance you may have horn issues is if you use a spacer. I had to run a wire from the wheel contact to the back side of the spacer, because the spacer interrupted the connectivity between the wheel and hub. I thought the mounting screws would provide enough continuity, but not in my case.

To get the wheel to line up straight you can make an adjustment to the steeering column.

Add another happy owner of the Momo Corse. The thumbrests and cut-outs for your thumbs are extremeley comfortable, plus I love the look of the wheel.
