Updated Pictures, what doesnt look right

Just got these shots of my car.

Something just doesn't look right, and not sure what?

Does it need to be lower? The car is an 84 Carrera Targa with 7s and 8s. I just put on new tires that are 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear?

Spoke to the shop and they are going to drop the front end a little more, I would like to see the front end about 1/2 inch lower then the rear.

Looks like you need a Dash Pad!:)

I don't know why, but the before wheels look meaner to me. It's awful sweet tho.

vash 04-05-2004 04:40 PM

i think it looks sweet both versions. i am not trying to wimp out of a direct answer, but it does look good both before and after.....

I personally like the "targa" script on the rollbar in silver, which was not the way they came from the factory. But your car looks great as-is!

25.5" front, 25" rear is the normally accepted lowest height where it can still be aligned. measured from the ground to the bottom of the fender lip thru the wheel center. that gives it about 1° rake.

Take the top off in the after pics.

My wrench stayed around for me, and I don't know what he was thinking, but looks like the car was ready for an off road event. He is going to lower it way down on Tuesday. Thank good he didn't take it in for the alignment yet.

Lower it, remove the rear window tint and add "Carrera" script or leave it alone 'coz it looks great as it is. My two cents.

john walker's workshop 04-05-2004 06:41 PM

oh yeah, the window tint. ghetto.

MOMO3.2 04-05-2004 07:10 PM

Michael:

Your car looks pretty "right" to me. It will look even better a little lower. I don't like the tint either.

After the lowering, that thing will be smokin! Great Porsche.

It's probably just the angle of the photo, but the car looks as if it could use more negative camber. Other than that it looks great.

If it was mine and I had several "LARGE" laying around I'd be tempted to do the early hood, RSR rear bumper, and RS front bumper.

The new tires seem to be taller in the pics. Maybe that is what you are seeing. Could just be the camera angle

bigrubberjeep 04-05-2004 07:15 PM

Hey Micheal: Your car looks good to me, I think you might have had it on alift while putting your new wheels on. IT will lower it self after a couple of road hours.

1973911s 04-05-2004 07:23 PM

Bigrubberjeep,

Stop by the house this weekend, I am tearing the kitchen out, your car looks great in the pictures on PCH.
