I got my hands on a NOS 2,7 distributor. The part no is 0 231 184 001 / JFUD6. Can I use this distributor on a 2.7MFI engine, or do I need to get it recurved.

Peter,
That is a CIS 2.7 distributor ... same specs as '72 - '73 911T unit. It would work, but there would be a bit better low end response with the curve of the proper 0.231.184.004 distributor! Here is the pertinent data from the '72 - '73 spec book: ![]() ![]() ![]()

thanks Warren, I was kind of hoping you would chime in. Best way forward is obviously having it re-curved. As it is a brand new distributor there is no need for a rebuild.
I now have some more questions 1. Am I right in thinking that I only need to (have) the springs replaced, or is there more to it. 2. Can I do this myself, and if so where do I get the parts? 3. Who can re-curve these?
