Koni identification

My recently new to me 78SC has Koni reds in the rear with the following markings:

Heavy turn
82K1962
109
Made in USA

I presume these are not OE as they are made in the USA but is there anyway to tell how old they are based on the codes? Other than the "push down on the bumper test and see if it bounces" test is there anyway to determine if they are operating properly? There are no obvious leaks.

Thanks Jim
