i switched back to the factory engine lid.
 

damn that fiberglass tail is heavy! i almost gave myself a hernia when the last bolt let go. i was got "not ready" for the weight. the stock standard lid is wimpy and light by comparison. i will post some pictures. the lid is not faded like the rest of the car, so i am getting some frankenstien911 features going. bummer. now i have to find a non heavy duty hood shock. i bet i could launch my cat! the lid pops up hard, it scares my back window everytime...for the time being till i get a duck...!

I'm on my second OEM deck lid shock in 3 weeks, and they don't hold up my non-tail lid. Stick with the heavy duty one.
