Just want to see the types of people that frequent here lately.

I doubt anyone will be #1, well maybe one or two of ya. :D

masraum 04-07-2004 06:18 PM

You forgot...

(6) I drive it everyday rain or shine like I stole it, and I really want to get to the track, but haven't yet.

david914 04-07-2004 06:21 PM

Put me down as a #6 :D

mackpipes 04-07-2004 06:30 PM

#4. The case halves are going together tomorrow. Should be ready for the March DE's.

nostatic 04-07-2004 06:32 PM

porschenut 04-07-2004 06:42 PM

Why?

devinbholmes 04-07-2004 07:19 PM

#6 most definitely!!

Schrup 04-07-2004 07:26 PM

I fancy myself a DIY, untill I get feed up. Then I take it to John Walker. Cars almost ready for it's track debut in July.

Zeke 04-07-2004 07:42 PM

Have too many cars and other projects. Always looking for some extra money for the next part. DIY is my mantra, and I don't live for anything. I take it as it comes. It's hard to wax primer, besides my sweater on my shoulders is always falling off when I do. However, when i'm under the car, which is often, the sweater makes a nice pad. My middle name is Bif and I keep a tennis racket on the rear fold down seats. I don't drive fast in the twisties because my medalion on my gold chain flys around a hits the door panel dinging it.

Excuse me now while I go down to Sears and have some whitewalls installed.

tiorio 04-07-2004 07:42 PM

What happened to dedicated DIY'r but only occasional tracker?

nestorjw 04-07-2004 07:48 PM

on second thought maybe i am a 6. drive it like you stole it works for me

Mike Kast 04-07-2004 07:51 PM

I am a total Bif. I just drove the 911 to get my nails polished. I stopped at the mechanic on the way to have him remove the Targa top.

Victor 04-07-2004 08:18 PM

Do not underestimate the power of the BIFF McFly!

THAT'S TWO COATS ARSEHOLE!

keithdog72 04-07-2004 08:52 PM

Gotta go with #4. I always seem to find that "one last thing" I want to do before I am satisfied. I think I have a problem. ;)

RSBob 04-07-2004 08:53 PM

After 2.5 months away, I'm picking mine up this Friday with a brand-spankin new 2.7RS spec motor: balanced, blueprinted, E-cam, larger turbo oil pump, SSIs, stainless Sport muffler, fly cut heads, and 2.7 RS cylinder set. I can hardly wait to feel the torque and to hear that enigine and muffler sing.

I do the tune-ups/valves/electrical problems and general parts swapping. I leave the expensive things that can break to the experts.

Next it is off for a windows out repaint of GP white.

Over extended? Who me?

lateapex911 04-07-2004 09:36 PM

Actually, I'm a 3, a 4 and a 5!

But, I WANT to be a 3, but I'm actually slipping back into a 4, and I'm a 5 with my other car, which is a dedicated race car.

keithdog72 04-07-2004 09:58 PM

I have noticed that the #4's in the poll are increasing quite rapidly, I guess there are other people who just enjoy taking stuff apart and putting it back together. You know, just for the heck of it (and to fix those pesky oil leaks) :)

dd74 04-07-2004 10:57 PM

6 1/2 - the half is letting Mother Nature wash it. :D

azasadny 04-08-2004 03:46 AM

I'm a #6

porschenut 04-08-2004 06:53 AM

This is absolutely no joke: I bought a one-owner car and the PO provided every maintenance receipt going back to day 1 (1" thick pile). Lots of them were only for oil changes but there is one that shows he brought the car in for "replace tail light bulb and put bra in trunk"! $26. I chuckle every time I think about that one. Guess he was a Bif too.

speeder 04-08-2004 06:56 AM

I'm the type that doesn't answer these polls.

That's a good type to be, IMHO.

cowtown 04-08-2004 07:17 AM

The guy who lives in my garage rebuilt my engine and swears he will never take his cars to a shop.

I just drive them.

Oh wait, that's the other me out there.

jmarenas 04-08-2004 07:19 AM

Type

Number 2 here, only NO Caynons just pot holes and slow drivers in the left lane. Thus, only time to carve anything is the loose concrete embedded in my paint. :D

targa911S 04-08-2004 07:44 AM

I'm a 13. I drive it to work on fridays..if it's not raining, drive like I stole it mostly on the weekends, don't DE or Auto X, don't belong to PCA, am months overdue in my renewal to the early S registry, do most of my own work, and am forced to leave it stock because it's original. Don't own a sweater of any kind, hey it's Florida, but I do like leather.

emcon5 04-08-2004 08:13 AM

I'm the type that can spell "are"

Tom

Crash94536 04-13-2004 07:40 AM

Number 3.

Going fast is fun. A little oversteer does wonders for your cardiovascular system.:p

993.986. 04-13-2004 08:04 AM

#two, probably a #six also, but want to be a #five

Axis11 04-13-2004 08:53 AM

I am definitely number 4. I'm the fifth owner of a
complete teardown restoration started by the second owner.
PO number 3 just brokered the car to PO number 4, who
spent a year buying the missing pieces so he could sell
me a car in a box. When I finish, I'll be the first owner
since the original to actually drive it.
I can't wait to fall into one of the other categories.

Jgordon 04-13-2004 09:07 AM

How about a category for those of us who would like to get into DIY more, but only have one car (the p-car) and can't afford to have it off the road for as long as it would take to figure out how to do something?

Dude76 04-13-2004 09:19 AM

my car is in pieces and I am praying that some day it will be back together.

svandamme 04-13-2004 11:26 AM

sign me up for nr 9 : car is in pieces and i'm desperately attempting to get her back together

addictionMS 04-13-2004 11:49 AM

I think I am a number 1

Mark sP 04-13-2004 11:58 AM

On second thoughts, I must be a six. :D

trader220 04-13-2004 05:09 PM

I am a 6 no doubt about it... samething with the bikes.... I used to build wild bikes with tons of chrome and polished aluminum... my bike is totally stock looking with motor mods cause I never clean it. I'd rather ride/drive then clean/polish either the cars or the bike.
