The hood on my SC has developed bad paint under the Porsche emblem. Since that is the only place the paint is actually bad, I am thinking about repainting only the center of the hood (from ridge to ridge) in a slightly contrasting color. The car is the original black metallic color. Should I go with a slightly darker color such as solid black or a slightly lighter color like dark metallic grey. The chances of being able to perfectly match the paint on a 24 year old car is slim to none and I really don't want to paint the entire car. Now is your chance to post some pictures of your pride and joy (talking about your Pcar, naturally) and help me make a decision.
Thanks, Fred Cook '80 911SC coupe (black metallic w/black and tan interior) |

A good painter will be able to match it, and that's what I would do. Search for a good painter.

Black metallic is not a hard color to match, go for the original look.
