Vintage/Lightweight amber fanshroud

Damon@Series900 (Pelican member) is making really nice amber fanshrouds for 911 series engines. I picked up the 3.6 version and the quality and fit is top notch. The amber fanshroud was used on early R, RSR and all of the "plastic" Porsches like 908, 910, 917. I think it gives the engine a really cool, vintage look. Below is a photo of some real amber shrouds from the RSR and R models.

I am working on the premise of nos parts status, meaning reproducing the colored fan shrouds in exact color and texture. These parts are nla and for the concours engine restoration, painting or shoe shine just do not cut it. If you look closely at the shrouds there is a texture, this texture is hairlike, and appears to be an early form of SMC (sheet molded compound). I have seen it in old plastic chairs and lunch trays. It is not print through or transfer of the fiber in the product, it in the mold finish. I can reproduce the 3.6 exact as the oem plastic version. the early shrouds are in the final stages of faithful reproduction of the "hair"texture, making them smooth is easy, it's the NOS look that I am after. My goal is to repro the early red S, and the red, green and yellow that followed. The amber 2.0 carbed,2.2-2.4 carbed or inj with attached duct , and the 2.7 with integral duct are available. I will be at RR2 with several of each and will have test colors done this week. K&N hats, block off plates, and engine tin to match, amber or color. The led portion of the light boxes are also coming this week and I hope to have a report on the final LW !bright! light boxes. Posts are good, offline inquiries are better.

"Looks like it was built by boeing engineers, high tech and light."

That's why I want one

And if my date can't find a way to fit herself on my lap in the Stohr...she's not worthy
