Smile Back from powdercoater (pics)

Just got these back from the powdercoater. I couldn't be happier with the results. I would definitely recommend Performance Coatings in Jonesboro, GA. 2-day turn-around and a VERY low price. Let me know what you think.

Is that clear powdercoat over polished metal?

That is a silver powdercoat. The company I went to specializes in the "polished" look. They mainly do headers and hi-temp stuff. I personally think they did a great job.

doozer, if you are thinking of having this done. these are the guys. They only charged me $50.00. I can post their adress and phone number if you would like. I'm sure they would do mail-order.

I have seen a lot of powdercoated and painted fans but this sure beats them all. Really nice.

SHA-WEET!!!!!!

And not too far away!!!

Did you have any pitting to overcome or were they in nice shape before the trip to the powder coater?

Looks fanatastic!!!! BTW, How did you get the vanes to curve in the second picture? HaHa

no major pitting. there are some flaws in the metal, but nothing that is noticed when they are installed. Here is a pic with alternator mounted (my flash really takes away from the polished look)

WOW! That is a pretty cool look! What was the condition of the parts when you sent them?

I suppose I should have posted a Before photo, I will see if I can dig one out. I will tell you, however, that the neither the fan or the housing were in the best of shape. They were severely oxidized and I NEVER expected them to come back looking like they did.

Just so everyone knows, I am in no way affiliated with this company. I just had a really great experience with them and I would hope that others could benefit from a reputable company.

Here is that info:

Performance Coatings, INC.
9768 Feagin Rd.
Jonesboro, GA 30236
(770)-478-2775

They also have a website www.headercoatings.com

fan

Keith, looks great. can you tell me how you got your fan out of the housing. I am struggling with this step and fear that I will break something. Thanks for the info on the powdercoater. Wish I had known for other parts, but not too late for my fan

Wow, I'm impressed. With the quality and the price.

That website deserves a place in my 911 favorites.

Thanks.

I thought the same thing. But, it does require SOME force. I had a partner hold the fan above the workbench while I "tapped" on the alternator post with a hammer and wood block. Don't hold it too far off the bench, you wouldn't want it to fall very far if it should "pop" out of there. BEWARE THE WOODRUFF KEY Ask me how I know?

OMG...that looks excellent. I'm going to add that web site to my "porsche file" for future reference because ours could totally use that shiny & clean look.
