Air Condition switch questions
I have multiple electrical problems with my AC in an 85 911. I want to test the fan switch and temperature control switch. Does any one know how to get them out to test them?

Getting them totally out can be difficult, but getting access to them is not too bad.
1. Unscrew the notched round retainer ring using sharp needle nose pliers. 2. Remove the large plastic bezel behind the AC console., there are some screws now exposed. 3. remove the 2 (or 4) exposed philips head screws on each side of the AC console, you can now pull down on the mounting bezel for the switches. 4. Switches should slide out from behind the free floating bezel. you can test it there. 3. |
What problems are you having? The most common is overloading the fuse and PP has a good article about moving the load to other underutilized circuits. The fan switch is pretty straight forward. I did a search and found several threads referencing the switch (old and new) terminals and wire colors. I haven't done anything with the temp sensor. Please post any info you get. I plan to get my upgraded AC system charged soon and my need to test my temp sensor if the compressor doesn't cycle correctly.
