Anyone try ostrich interior?

Don't look at me like a freaK! I saw a black Harley bike yesterday with a tan ostrich leather seat, then I looke dat my tan leather seat in my black 911 and I said, "boy, that wouldnt look too bad in here" So I figuered I would ask about any wild materials used for interiors!

funny, i just talked to my girlfriend about this. i have a condition (mental) where, when i see symetrical spotting, like beehives, the bubbles popping on pancakes cooking, road rash scars....etc. i get major heebee jeebees. i mean goosebumps and everything. yesterday there was a show on some acorn woodpeckers that store the seeds in hole all over trees! i still goosebump up thinking about it. i am a freak. your ostrich seats would heeb me out it is your car, i bet it would look ok. better and faster than on the harley. but damn expensive?

ostrich

I'm not sure how it would look but you will be lighter in the wallet . Beyond the original ostrich material there are a couple of simulated patterns available and they are all pricey . Motorcycle seats are the tipical market for those kind of materials because spending two or three hundred dollars seams to be acceptable . If you ever get it done be sure to post pic's .

The Harley ostrich seats are about $500. Multiply by 10 to get the cost of your ostrich interior.

I've got a friend who has an ostrich farm down in Texas, he said he will ship the skins to you "wet" in a 55gallon drum next time he harvests. He usually send them down south where they make it into sometype of "lowfat" pork rind substitute. Let me know if your interested.

Only on the Net,
We just brought down the price from Fancy bucks to pork rinds in bulk in a few posts.

55 gallons of wet big bird hides sounds kinda messy though
And I don't have to wonder how it smells.

DIY hide tanning?

I don't see the point, won't make your car any faster. Isn't that what it's all about?

Anteater or elephant is a possibility too. If they can make boots out of 'em, they can make seat and dash covers.

"I have seen some Escalades with Ostrich interiors "

That would be reason enough not to do it. Bling!

Bling? Then why have leather at all? That's BLING too! Do you have cloth? I doubt it!

What about Power windows, do you have manuals? I doubt it, that's BLING too then right?

Finaky people!

When I went to a factory tour in 95 in the upholstery shop they had samples of ostrich leather that was used in a car for a tennis player. (Martina N.) That is what the guide told us. He said the skins came from a farm in South Africa.

Bling is neon under the car, not headlights....

Bling is a 4" exhaust tip bolted on a 1" muffler outlet, not a 3" tip connected to a 2" system with expansion chambers.

Bling is 8" wide wheels on 2 " spacers on the back, with 6" up front on a Civic, not a 911.

Bling is a driving video game inside a car you drive. Driving the car on the track is not.

Bling is seal skin seat covers with mink piping, leather in an open cockpit 356 is weather resistant, and isn't bling.

Bling is flash, not function.

I forgot to add, IMHO...sorry if I offended anyone here with neon, 4"s, video games in their dash or seals on their seats!
