Nah, you want to stay away from the C4. Too much weight - more things to go wrong. Of course, if you want to go to Tahoe with it, you may need the 4WD. :D

Thanx, but I'm sticking with my SC. Gotta have it, nothing else will do!!!

PM'ed you about a '82 SC Coupe that I'm going to sell. I was going to put in in the Autotrader tonight/tomorrow here in Los Angeles. TonyG |
This is a 1980 that used to ride higher, softer, quieter and on skinny wheels until I started hanging around this board.
This year model and later doesn't have the sheer magic air pump for smog, but that's OK. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081988918.jpg |
Per Rennlist SC FAQ:
You really should check out the Rennlist SC FAQ for all the info you will need for SCs See the link below There were several upgrades made to the 1979 and 1980 oil circuits to prevent oil cavitation and the sump filling up with oil, which caused a sudden loss of engine power under hot driving conditions. The first fix, a new pressure relief valve, was incorporated after engine number 628 2539 (non-CA) and 658 1060 (CA) in 1979. In 1980, there was a new sump screen design which helped the pump in picking up crankcase oil. It's recommended that both these be fitted to pre-1980 SC's, however, they are not needed on earlier 2.7 engines. While not critical to idling and going to the corner store, these two upgrades should be made if you intend to drive your early 911SC with vigor. http://tech.rennlist.com/ |
What Nostatic said....pre and post 79 were only experiments trying to get to, or back to, the magic that was and is the 79.
:D |
Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Car is in Seattle. |
Thanx Bobby, but I will never have a black car again. Not enough days in the year to keep it looking like it should
|
Yeah... definitely don't get black.
In fact I need to get right out there with some more Zymol!!! Right after I polish my Fuchs!!! :) Not!! Ohh and don't drive it either! Especially if its raining or even worse a little snow..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1071432534.jpg I don't want to be seeing you guys on the road!! Helps keep the perceived value up for the non Porsche peeps! :) |
Now THAT sounded just a wee bit sarcastic!!!

schit guys, i drove a friends SC yesterday. i didnt drive fast, but he did. we found some semi abandoned office complex that some dot com boom left. Poor property owner! he just had his wrench go through the thing with orders to "fix everything!" carte blanche! that plus, install some parts he has laying around the garage. limited slip, tube torsion bars ( i think 21/26?, he said the smallest size upgrade), new shocks at the corners. holy crap that car was blazing fast. we were going thru thes huge parking lots, and connecting roads. one lot, some kids even stacked rocks like a slalom course. my buddy can drive! i want his car! he said, a potential job will make him purchase a sport sedan for client taxi duty. and he would sell me his car, at a "friend" price. i told him i would take it. it was the lunch beers talking, but i will probably take it. so you guys may see my 75 on the sale blocks in two months. SC's rock.
