Long Island Meet and Greet to be setup in Port Jefferson

Well since Ive been a member of this board for nearly 3 years now I think by this time I should have met at least ten other members. Well Ive only met 2 ! Since the nice weather is coming and we will be shining up our toys why not get together . There seems to be about 30 members from out here on the island . Anybody interested in a sunday meet ? I live about 1000 feet from the port jefferson public docks (large clean parking lot)and could provide directions and details. We could also do a group lunch in one of the great bars or resturants that are all in walking distance. Once a few guys chime in we can organize this . Who`s in ????

Kurt,
I'm in for some gathering but can't make the autocross this weekend. The car is apart on the driveway and the wife is getting irritated with all the parts in the living room so this weekend its going back together.

I never made it to the Olive Garden the other night but will stop by your shop next time I'm over that way.

Keith

I would be interested in a tobay beach meet but want to do a more local meet out here by me. We can plan it to be in say... 3 weeks on a sunday morning ?

Ron arent you the guy who traveled the country ? Surely Port Jefferson is not a problem for you.

Don I would rather see your new GT3 ! but an authentic R/S would do just fine.

Scott the seats are need sooner than this meet.

Mike you should have it together by then.

Keith I guess I will see you at the meet or when you pop in someday.

John does that mean no ? Or will you come out ?

Kurt,

It is a great idea. In three weeks I will be getting ready to head to Daytona but will try and meet up with you. Tobay this Sunday is great as the weather outlook is good and I may autocross there. It is also an easy central place to meet. I do not mind traveling to Port Jeff but it is a bit out of the way for some who may be coming from NYC or Nassau.

Best,

Don

Man, I would love to come out to Tobay, the cabriolet needs a decent flogging.

Have you guys looked at the new rule book? Basically, if you have changed anything on the car, you're in improved or modified. I used to run my 911E in stock (no engine mods) but now it seems I would be running with cars with unlimited mods except for displacement, due to my adjustable sway bars.

Further, the rule book allows you up to a .120 overbore in Improved. Take my engine, for example. 84 x 66 = 2194cc. A .120 overbore is 3.05mm, so the bore can be 87.05mm, for a total displacement of 2,357. So I can increase my displacement by 7% but I can't use an adustable sway bar and stay in improved?

Having said that it will still be a fun season. I'll just do it in my perfectly stock Cabriolet.

big deal...

I have a set of RE-71 205/60/16 that's 1/2 worn that you can slide around with pretty good.

it's for free.. like bonus coupons IF you use them this Sunday..

PS: a "set" = 4

Ron, that's a very generous offer, thank you. I've got a bunch of AX tires ready to go in the hangar, though.

Where are you guys thinking about getting together in Port Jeff? I bet the Slacker could join us as well.

I'm down with the clowns.
I don't mean to be all ecumenical and *****, but isn't Easter in 3 weeks? And on a Sunday?
That's my scheduled trip upstate to get the 930 and bring her back here. So, prior to Easter, I'll be showing up in the humble iX.
Tobay on Sunday sounds good. Where is Tobay? I suppose I could root around for the Porsche Post, but I'm not up for that kind of research right now.
PJ is easy for me -- straight shot north on Nichols and I'm there. Just post the 411 and I'll be there. Been a while for me and PJ -- dated a girl from there for a while. Maybe Tara's or the Steak joint down in town... OK, maybe not Tara's.

Ron - I'll call you in the next coupla' days to organize logistics.

TOBAY, Town Of Oyster Bay Beach, east of Jones beach, think it's close to the old OBI.

I'd prefer Port Jeff on Sunday.

Scott
