Good Shop for PPI in Orange County, CA
Does anyone know a good shop for a Pre-Purchase Inspection in Orange County? I've heard that Andial is good, does anyone else have any ideas??

Andial is a good as it gets. The factory has trusted them for 30 years.

I see you're in Fullerton. Have you had any dealings with Jeff at Aase Motors in your town? I'm a new owner and am curious about the shops near me as I haven't heard many glowing recommendations. Nardi and Game Face are close to me too. These are all OC shops, so I hope I'm not hijacking this thread. ![]() Thanks, |

I was there at Aase motor last week. Their service is much better than those "guru" shops in the Los Angeles area. They do not rush the job. The pace is right for the older 911s. You should be take a look yourself and talk to Jeff and his crews. I recommend this shop. This will be the shop I will be visiting often now.

I used Andial on my previous 911 Cab. They did not catch many items, which later were very obvious to me. I would not recommend them. Hergesheimer should be great, though.

Richard, I'm surprised at that. Their reputation is stellar. I coulcn't get them to stop finding things to do on my previous 911. Something wasn't right on your deal. I still think they would be a good PPI source. But, all the others mentioned are more than capable, I'm sure.

Jeff at Aase motors is top notch. I was looking at buying this 911 from CA. from out of state. Had the guy drop the car off and had them lined up to do a ppi. He called me shortly after recieving the car with a whole list of problems, sent me a fax so I could get my deposit back and didn't even want to charge me anything.

Alan,
Jeff Ericson and his guys Jose 'B' and Alan at Aase Motors in Fullerton is a great shop, you can't go wrong there. Nardi's in Whittier, which is owned by Angel Nardi, is kind of old school and bit difficult to deal with, His best guy, his son Sergio, left a few years ago and opened Game Face MotorSports in La Habra. He is very easy to work with and knows the cars well. Laura Hergesheimer MotorSports |

I've also used Randal Assee shop here in Fullerton. When I rebuilt my engine I had them do the valves and heads. Fair price and 3 day turn-around.
I think Randy was a cousin or related somehow with the now defunct Assee Bros. parts place in Anaheim. Not that it means anything. Assee's place here in Fullerton is a small shop but all the cars lined up outside, when I was there, are pretty impressive. Lots of Race cars and pristine daily drivers. This place is more than competant to do a PPI. I'd call them first to get a price. It's kinda nice to have the place just around the corner if need be.

My friend bought a 996 to a major independent Porsche service shop in Los Angeles. The owner did a PPI in 30 mins and charged him $75. I asked him what did the PPI tells you? He said the shop owner checked over the car make sure the 996 has not been in any accident. That's it. Because he was too "busy" to do other detail PPI work. My friend ended up buying the 996. Luckily nothing goes wrong. It's important you find a mechanic who is willing to work on your 911 correctly.
