If you haven't already, check out the new Road and Track issue. There are several pictures of the next generation 911 coupe and of the new Boxster coupe. According to the pictures, the Boxster coupe will be known as (drum roll please......) the "Boxster SC"!

if "boxer" engine + "roadster" = the Boxster
shouldn't "boxer" + "coupe" = the Boupe ??

Actually, it's much better looking than the boxter ragtop, for sure. It will make every 996 owner want to sell their car, now the boxter REALLY looks like a carrera! I guess it all plays out, I'll get my $10k 1999 waterpump 996 soon!

Over on the Boxster Board, someone with a reliable source from the factory said that they are not in fact going to build a Boxster coupe. I always thought it was a silly idea anyway - if you want a Boxster coupe, buy a hardtop.

I like Boxster's too, and I think the Boupe that is in Road & Track doesn't look that good, the fastback style greenhouse looks like the 911, but it doesn't flow into the rear as smoothly. A boxster with the optional hardtop looks better. Besides that huge greenhouse seems kind of funkily large for a 2 seater.
I do like what they've done with the 911 front end though. I can't wait to see one in person, hopefully it'll be as good or better than the early spy photos look. Thank goodness they are finally getting rid of the other headlights, ugh.

The bottom photo looks like a possibility for the boxster, but the top three look more like a 911 to me.

I actually like the black one. The red one looks like the usual bland stuff they have been releasing.
