Not to be an asss, but this subject is beat to death every 3 months or so. See that seach button in the upper right corner? It will lead you to a wealth of information on this subject. And not to be a complete asss, I am running Bridgestone S03's on my '86 Carrera.

3 months? Seems more like every 3 weeks... and I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE750's.

It's a good topic to rehash occasionally as new tires come out often and ours wear out very quickly.

Do a search for a thread titled "Every Day Tires" to find a thread I started a while back. I could just post the link here, but ".. if you teach a person to fish, he eats for a lifetime."

Wrong Harry! If you teach a man to fish, he spends his days in a boat on the Willamette...drinking microbrew.

It's a problem because the Willamette has too many toxins in it, including mercury. I suggest going up the McKenzie until we finish cleaning up the Willamette. I predict it will be on the cover of Nat'l Geogr. again in 5 years.

Randy, I think pwd72S and HarryD are fishing without bait so as not to interfere with drinking microbrew. Priorities, man!

Bridgestone RE 750's myself, but just because I couldn't afford the S03s.

Also the BFGoodrich KD's have amazing grip in the dry, or the KDW's add some wet protection. Then there are also a couple of very commond Yokohama models, and the newest up and comer (cheap too) Khumo (sp) or is that Kumho or something like that.

that's a great street tire IMO.

my brother has a set of them on his '88 in lala land.
He grew up as a cab driver in NYC metro. He drives his '88 like a NYC cab driver thru w LA on 750's, with great tire performance,
w/ no squeal.

My Yoko 100Es's felt squirrely at high speed when new (only 200 miles on them before I sold the car). Several people told me (here) that they were not the best below about 65 oF or so.

That makes me want to try for the SO-3's if I can ever get my '73 back together. Tho maybe the Es-100s would have sertlled in in a few more hundered miles?

tires

I bought a set of B.F. Goodrich Traction T/A's. They are incredible
in rain and dry. They are not inexpensive, but Tirerack rates them very high. Charlie

Tires and fishing huh? The car I drive has B.F Goodrich t/a's, (previous owner choice.) The fronts where new in 2000 and have alot of tread left whereas the rears are from '97 (!) and getting a bit worn so I might buy two new B.F. for the rears or four new SO-3's. I hafta think about that. It is good to see someone else in the world is running these B.F>'s One notable thing: it seems they have Left and Right tread designs and are therefore not interchangable... Are there other tires on the market like this? Now I have to go double check to see if I am running two right tires or two left tires.....
