Amber, Victoria, and my 2.8 Dyno results
After almost a year of searching, I couldn't be happier with finding "the one." I had been with Amber for 3 solid years when I decided I needed a change. The S2000 was an awesome feat of engineering with its high revving 2.0L liter 9k redline and quick/nimble handling. At the track or at autocrosses, Amber could hold her own against the "fanciest" of sports cars, yet she was always missing something. Maybe it was the lack of communication between the road and the thick leather steering wheel, or that I wasn't emotionally attached to her anymore. However, without ever meeting Amber, I don't think I would have been able to move on and appreciate Victoria that much more.
Amber was one of the first blondes to roll off the Honda assembly line in late 2000, she had nice curves, simple and elegant interior, and when the top came off, drew LOTS of attention. But my tastes in sports cars began to change and I started looking for something even more simple and raw, and with a nice racing history. I didn't know where Victoria was, but I would know it if we ever met. I couldn't imagine ever calling Amber "fat", but she does seem to be quite the porker at 2750lbs compared to ~2250lbs. This really is the case where "less is more." Just looking at Victoria's classic lines justifies why this purchase was more emotional than sensible. Ok, enough rambling, here she is: Amber ![]() Victoria ![]()

It seems to me that you have choosen wisely. -Scott

The motor was built by Musant Motorsports with GT4 specs:
2.8 GT4 Race Motor Comp. Ratio- 12.5:1 Twin-plugged Crankcase: 7R case bored for larger cylinders, 100% timesert, blunt nosed boat tailing Rods: balanced, rebuilt, magnafluxed, racewear bolts, shotpeened Custom J&E pistons and cams Heads: ported & polished intake & exhaust ports 40IDA webber carbs Phase 9 headers/exhaust Electromotive ignition base unit with custom crank trigger wheel 7800rpm redline FYI: I'm still learning what alot of these terms mean so I won't be able to get too technical about the specs yet. ![]()

Yeah, the previous owner had completed all the body work, paint, flares, bumpers, tail, and hood. He even got the old hood latch to work with the later one.

This was the one for sale up in MA right? I love that car. What did you end up paying? what gas do you use? I was scared away by the thought of needing race gas.

OMG!! that thing is beautiful, impressive under the decklid too. Im sure you will find Victoria a bit more raw and special than Amber. Theres lots of Ambers around, but Victoria is one in a million.

Very sweet, I do really like S2000's (never driven one though), but you've moved from a fumbling little girl to a wild and crazy Woman. Before it was just good because it was there, now she'll be teaching you a thing or two!!
Oh, and yes, she is a gymnast! Flexible and able to jump through hoops and do all sorts of nifty things.

Elombard: Yes, that is the car in Conn. and I paid the same price that he probably quoted to you. The owner told me that I wouldn't be disappointed with it if I saw it. A few hours later, I was driving that thing home! The gas thing was a concern for me too, but since it wasn't going to be a daily driver, I bit the bullet and bought some race gas to mix it on the street. I've been contemplating selling the nice motor to someone who races in GT4 and picking up a 3.6. Decisions...decisions...
911ctS: I love your Mexico blue with the fikses. I have a friend who is doing a '74 IROC look thats going to be that shade of blue too.

Are you running the phase-9's before some kind of muffler? I would love to see a pic of the underside of the motor in regards to the exhaust.

Just a clarification since Salazar S2k didn't make it clear. The posted dyno results are TO THE GROUND. The 2.8 is spanking the S2k on both hp and torque. So its not 9 less hp, it more like 15-30hp MORE.
Paul: The car has the phase 9's and the silencer they sell attached to 1-1/2" headers. Pretty darn quiet by racecar standards. -SMD Who is actually the friend salazarS2k is talking about w/ the "soon to be mexico blue" 74RS clone.
