The previous owner (genius)
of my '76 911 S that I am restoring decided when the sunroof would not move, he would grease and anti-sieze compound everything assoicated with the sunroof. I have cleaned all of the grease off everything and replaced with new & clean parts. My question is though when I was cleaning the gear that drives the sunroof cables it was completely covered in anti-sieze and I would guess not but do you grease this gear with anything?? Thanks

I think the prevailing wisdom for sunroof mechanisms is that the moving parts and cable tracks should be clean but NOT lubricated. The reason being is that the lube/grease/oil will attract dirt and wear more rapidly than it would if left dry.
