does anyone know where in SoCal you'd start a 7 year old (and perhaps 42 year old) on such activities? I think there is a place on the 405 down towards Lawndale...

Looks like great fun!
Was one of the most exciting things to do as a boy, need to take my kids somewhere too. There's a great go-kart track near the Calgary Airport that my friends and I would spend the day at; what a blast!

Kelowna has a Malibou race track, but you have to be 16 to drive their cars (karts).
