ATL Pelicans - Car stereo shop

It's a sad story that happened at RRII....but can anyone on the northside of ATL recommend a shop for car stereos and navigation systems?

Tim, on Friday night / Sat morning my car was parked in the Adams Mark garage in Daytona (which was supposed to be secure), but my in dash stereo was taken (left me the changer) and the gps navigation screen was taken. the nav brain was left but proabably is damaged. some carpeting was ripped up to cut the wires. could have been alot worse but it really sux. Took the car cover also. I found out another RRII visitors rental car was stolen out of the same garage on Saturday night.

anyway i'm trying to find a shop that can look at the mess and tell me what the $$ damage is.

It was still a great w'end...got to drive the track.

what equipment did you have?
and if you have a digital cam i could help you out infowise as to what you will need to replace, although i am on vacation and out of state i'm able to check my mail/the board every few days.
your insurance should cover anything that was securely mounted in the car as long as you have theft.

fyi.......car alarms aren't always the answer to protect the things inside the car.......i'm more curious if he remembered to remove his faceplate, but this isn't always an option on navigation radios.

I know that however, once the car is breached, was there one hell of a racket from the alarm?

Some alarms are set differently. I.E., if triggered, horn goes off, light flash and car is shut down electrically, fuel, ignition etc. Also, it will reset after 10 min. and then 3 minutes later trigger on again and again until someone resets the alarm.

Just wanted to know.....

problem is experienced thieves will know how to disable alarms pretty quickly.....either by finding the brain/siren wire or finding the siren and disconecting it quickly.......most thieves can do this in under 15 seconds after entry.
this is why the install of the alarm is more important than the alarm itself
