Question Fuel expansion tank?

Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I wrote here. To make the story short, I moved from California to Quebec in 2003 (see Traveling across the USA). And because of the snowy weather here, my '75 911 has been stored for winter. Now spring is here and I just retrieved my 911 from storage. I have substantial work to do before I can register this car in Quebec.

One of the first task is to repair the windshield washer system. I dismantled the windshield washer reservoir, which is located in the front left fender. Just above the reservoir, there was a black tank with two tubes that I don't know where they are coming from. Can this black tank be a fuel expansion tank?

Thanks,

Alain

Looks sort of like the "new tank" shown below?

If so, that is the vapor recovery tank for your fuel system.

That's it! Just like the one on the right of the pictures.

Thanks Harry!

Alain

p.s. Gee, I like this wireless router... I can surf with my laptop in the garage, beside my belly-open 911... :-)
