Porsche Crest 1982 911 SC Speedo Ticking Noise

Can anyone tell me what might be causing a ticking noise that sounds like a piece of paper stuck to my front tire ? The slower the speed, the slower the tick. Faster the speed, faster the tick. My Porsche mechanic took a look at it and determined that it wasn't the suspension and that he had thought he had recalled someone else having the same issue and that it was related to something behind the dash connected at the speedometer. Everything works fine but I'm getting tired of having to turn the radio up to get rid of the "chook-chook-chook-chook" sound below 40MPH. Thanks for any suggestions........

Couldn't resist doing a search as I thought I had read something about this earlier. It looks like it's the oxygen sensor counter. Read on...
Clicking from dash (Varies with wheel speed)?

Yes, this thread comes up at least once every few weeks, it is you O2 sensor, you have to pop out your speedo, and pull the plug on your sensor. It does not actually affect your lambda sensor, but you should make a notation if you wish to change your sensor at 30,000 miles.
