Front Bilstein shock change. Is a new roll pin required?
Can I reuse the pin that is in there? I have new shocks but no spare roll pins.
|
I thought the pin comes with the insert?
But, I have re-used mine before without any issue. YMMV |
Yeah it does but I am not using Bilstein inserts. Somethign a little out of the ordinary and the issue of the roll pin was never addressed. Now I sit here ready to take them apart and don't want some otherwise overlooked part to stop me in my tracks.

I reused mine, but you can get them at the local hardware store for $0.50
|
be sure the back, rolled part of the pin contacts the notch in the shock, not the split, or some knocking can develop later.
|
as always....you've got the little tips that make all the difference in the world.
So, I take it you are comfortable with reusing roll pins in this application? Do you know the specs for the pin in the event I need to run for emergency pins? |
