Front Bilstein shock change. Is a new roll pin required?

Can I reuse the pin that is in there? I have new shocks but no spare roll pins.

I thought the pin comes with the insert?

But, I have re-used mine before without any issue. YMMV

Yeah it does but I am not using Bilstein inserts. Somethign a little out of the ordinary and the issue of the roll pin was never addressed. Now I sit here ready to take them apart and don't want some otherwise overlooked part to stop me in my tracks.

I reused mine, but you can get them at the local hardware store for $0.50

be sure the back, rolled part of the pin contacts the notch in the shock, not the split, or some knocking can develop later.

as always....you've got the little tips that make all the difference in the world.

So, I take it you are comfortable with reusing roll pins in this application?

Do you know the specs for the pin in the event I need to run for emergency pins?
