Update on "PPI Results--Big Question"
Well, now I personally know the value of a PPI---
Mechanic who serviced the car for 4 years told me car ran strong, no problems. I insisted on PPI with Compression/Leakdown. Results were fine exept for one cylinder (50% Leakdown). Drove car hard, retest: still 50% leakdown! I am now out the cost of the PPI ($200.) Plus the Cost of a plane ticket from Philly to Florida (on Southeast Airlines $150). On the other hand...I just saved 4-6K on a upper motor rebuild. I figure that I came out ahead (although there is some disapointment). I guess "my car" is still out there, somewhere (please call or email soon). Alan |
Cheap insurance if you ask me!

your disappointment probably doesnt come close to the guy with the defective 911 on his hands. nice save!

Well done, Alan. I know you must be disappointed, but there are plenty of good cars out there. What are you looking for?

Nice work insisting on the PPI regardless of what the mechanic has said about the car. You owe yourself a beer, you just saved yourself a lot of money and headaches. I'm sure your car will be found soon. Good luck.
