911 MY 87 - Different VIN on sticker and engraving ?
Hi guys,
After years owning the car I just noticed that the VIN on the driver door sticker and the one engraved in the frunk are slightly different (same ending, different first letters). Does it make any sense? Which one is the correct one Thanks ![]() Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkAttachment 1 |

i had a car stamped in the frunk with a row chassis number, that ended up with a us engine and vin.
It happened occasionally I guess to fill an order maybe?? |

All US cars are like this.
WPOZZ on the front chassis cross member, WPOA* on the VIN sticker. The reason is that all bodies went down the line with the WPOZ stamped on the chassis, then some of those bodies were turned into US cars and had a different set of digits when the chassis number turns into a VIN. The last 6 digit number is the same, which is the unique production number. see ROW vin/US vin on the same car, big mess!!! |
